Matrix Introduces Optional Three-panel Search and Dashboard

A new three-panel search and dashboard are now available for NorthstarMLS Matrix users. By default, you will continue to see the existing user interface unless you go into the new search or new dashboard to use these new features.

Three-panel Search

Designed to be fully responsive, the new search provides an intuitive and efficient user experience across a wide range screen resolutions and devices, including mobile phones, tablets and computers.

At desktop resolutions, the new search uses a three-panel design that shows the search criteria, map and search results simultaneously, switching to a touch-friendly layout at mobile resolutions.

Quickly perform a variety of familiar search actions, such as printing, saving and sending listings; creating a CMA; exporting the results list; viewing full listing details and other reports, etc.

With the three-panel search, you can:

• Fully customize your search criteria and results list formats to suit your workflow.
• Use the map to define the search area, view different map layers, select properties, etc.
• Toggle between the search results Gallery View and List View.
• View a pop-up Summary of the listing, including photos and key details, by clicking a search result or map pin.
• New pop-over windows let you email listings and work with Auto Emails and Saved Searches without leaving the three-panel search screen. (The Concierge listing approval screen will be updated in a future release.)
• The new contact picker control is easy to use on mobile devices and provides better support for large contact lists.
• “Expand” icons on the Map and Search Results List let you maximize the size of the selected panel while hiding the other one. Click the icon a second time to view both panels again.
• When viewing a Saved Search or Auto Email linked to a contact, the Search Results List and listing Summary panel display “Goggles” information—client-specific data about each listing (favorites, views, Property Fit score, etc.).
• Search by multiple measurements within a single field, e.g., searching Lot Size either by Acres or Square Feet.
• View confirmation messages shown at the top of the screen now close automatically after 10 seconds instead of needing to be dismissed manually.
• When emailing listings from the new search, choose to send the listings as a OneHome/client portal link OR as one or more PDF reports. (This works the same way as emailing PDFs via the Print function in the classic UI, but the new UI logically separates the email and print capabilities.)
• Use a Thumbnail view, which shows the primary photo of each listing along with the user-customizable fields from the regular List view. Because the photo adds height to each row, data wraps within each row as needed to best use the available space.
  

Classic Matrix Remains Available

The new search does not replace the classic Matrix search, which will continue to be available for the foreseeable future. You can switch between the new and classic search at any time, using either or both as you see fit.
