Unauthorized Access to a Property
April 16, 2025
Unauthorized Access to a Property
Unauthorized Access to a property is when an agent enters a property without permission from the listing agent/seller. Agents must have an approved showing before entering a property. The property must only be entered during the approved scheduled showing time. Accessing a property without an approved showing could lead to legal and ethical action. This is a violation of NorthstarMLS policy.
In a case where you are early or need to stay longer, agents should reach out to the listing agent for written approval. Never give your key card or lock box code to a potential buyer or another non-approved agent, to access the property without you.
