Facilitator Agreements

January 29, 2023

Parties utilizing the facilitator agreement often are unsure if and how a sale can be reported to NorthstarMLS using the agreement.

SELLER

As the agreement allows for each service provided, including entry into NorthstarMLS as a listing. When inputting a facilitator agreement, follow the same guidelines and as you would with an exclusive right to sell listing agreement. This will also require the listing input form to be signed and completed by the sellers as well.

We do often get asked if a sale can be reported as a comp sold after the sale closes.  This option can be utilized if the sellers did not agree to have the property listed in NorthstarMLS.

BUYER

To enter a sale as a comp sold after the sale closes, the buyers would then need to sign and complete a listing input form at which point the agent representing the buyers would enter as a comp sold.
