Added Account Security with MFA

The new MFA security process will require you to provide two or more verification factors to gain access to NorthstarMLS systems. It significantly strengthens security compared to passwords alone by adding extra layers of protection against hacking, phishing and other cyberattacks.

How it works: When logging into the NorthstarMLS Dashboard, you will be prompted every 30 days to provide a combination of your MLS password plus one of the following:

Email – Verification code sent to user’s primary email address

SMS – 6-digit code sent via text message to user’s primary phone number

Passkey – Biometric or device-based login (e.g., Face ID, fingerprint, security key)

Your Password is Unique to You and Case Sensitive

Remember, according to NorthstarMLS Rules & Regs only you should be using your password to access NorthstarMLS. It should not be shared with anyone else, including assistants or others in your office, and you are subject to fines if you do. FAQs

Here are answers to some common questions about the NorthstarMLS Dashboard.

Why did NorthstarMLS change the login process and dashboard?

We care about the ease and security associated with how subscribers access NorthstarMLS technologies. For that reason, the Dashboard is your single point of entry to your MLS tools and allows you to streamline your processes by customizing it to your preference. If there are products you don’t want to see, you can hide them and add them back as desired.

In addition to the customization features, the Dashboard adds greater verification and security features that streamline the login process and enhance our ability to manage listing data accuracy as an MLS. In addition to password management that only allows you to reset it (and requires it every 180 days), MFA settings require authentication using your MLS password and email, SMS or passkey code every 30 days.

Does this change anything with my MLS system (i.e., Matrix or Flexmls)?

Once you access your system of choice from the Dashboard there is no change in how you interact with that tool. You can continue to use your MLS system as you have been.

How do I access the Dashboard?

To sign into the Dashboard go to https://member.northstarmls.com/ and click the “Click Here To Login” button. Enter in your normal credentials and click “Login” or click on “Forgot Password?” if you have forgotten your password.

Can I use a URL to login directly to Matrix or FlexMLS?

No. Any URLs you have been using to do this previously will redirect to the Dashboard, where you will be prompted for your password. Consider updating your saved URLs to https://member.northstarmls.com/  now as the old URLs will be discontinued at a future date.

How do I reset my password?

Once logged in to the Dashboard, click on your name in the upper right corner, select “Change Password”  and follow the prompts.

How often will I be prompted to update my MLS password?

You will be prompted to update your MLS password every 180 days.

What are my options for multifactor authentication?

You have three options for MFA:

Email – Verification code sent to user’s primary email address

SMS – 6-digit code sent via text message to user’s primary phone number

Passkey – Biometric or device-based login (e.g., Face ID, fingerprint, security key)

As noted above, it’s important to use the primary email and phone number you have listed with NorthstarMLS.
