A Mix of Familiar and New Faces Leading NorthstarMLS into 2023

While we’ve shared news of the launch of MLS-Touch and NorthstarMLS Add/Edit enhancements, we’ve also been working hard behind the scenes to structure our team to best serve you. This includes creating a management team that is a mix of tenured NorthstarMLS staff and new faces from the industry. They include:

Michael Bisping, Chief Operations Officer

Mike has been with NorthstarMLS since 2006 as the Director of Customer Relations and has previous management experience from his work with the American Academy of Neurology and the American Arbitration Association.

In addition to bringing his deep organizational knowledge of NorthstarMLS to his new role, Mike also has the highest level of certification, CMLX-3, from the Council of Multiple Listing Services based on mastery of MLS knowledge and skills.

As COO, Mike reports directly to me and oversees the day-to-day administrative and operation of NorthstarMLS with Marketing, Help Desk and Rules & Regulations teams. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Clarke University, Dubuque IA.

Marshall Thomason, Chief Financial Officer

Marshall brings 10+ years of corporate finance and accounting leadership experience to NorthstarMLS. He was most recently VP, corporate controller for EasyKnock, a real estate fintech provider. Prior to EasyKnock, Marshall was the head of finance at Remine, where he helped complete the sale of the company to MLS Technology Holdings.

Reporting directly to me, Marshall’s expertise in forecasting, modeling and financial analysis will help NorthstarMLS evaluate strategic initiatives and partnerships while also building efficiencies into the team’s processes and reporting.

Marshall received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA from Mount St. Mary’s University while on a baseball scholarship.

Daryn Veer, Chief Technology Officer

Daryn has 30+ years of experience in IT, including 25+ years as a software/database developer, and 8 years of system administration for companies including Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, 3M and Delta Airlines. Starting at NorthstarMLS in April 2008 as database administrator, he continued to take on additional responsibilities, most recently serving as director, information technology.

As CTO, Daryn will join the executive team and take on more customer-facing activities. The NorthstarMLS IT and QA teams will continue to report to him as they work to best meet our technological goals and objectives in serving our subscribers.

When not overseeing NorthstarMLS’s technology operations, Daryn is the proud father of eight children.

Kirk Lattner, Director of Product Management

Kirk brings 20+ years of project management experience to NorthstarMLS. Prior to joining us, Kirk led product and project management, UI/UX design, and Agile practices teams at eXp Realty. He also brings MLS product management experience from his work with MRIS/Bright MLS.

Reporting directly to me, Kirk looks forward to giving brokers and agents the best possible experience with NorthstarMLS.

Kirk holds a bachelor’s degree in economics with a minor in business administration from the University of Iowa. A native Iowan, he lived and worked in the Twin Cities from 2000 – 2003 and is thrilled to be working for a Minnesota company again.

Dorothy Lewis, Director of Marketing

A resourceful innovator with in-depth experience in developing metrics-driven brand strategy and marketing programs, Dorothy will report directly to COO Michael Bisping and will oversee the development and launch of a new NorthstarMLS website in 2023.

Dorothy comes to us from Remine, where she led the company’s digital rebranding efforts. This included website redevelopment and implementing go-to-market strategies and marketing automation processes to enhance client experience.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Parsons School of Design, New York, NY, and a master’s degree in entrepreneurial studies from Southern Methodist University, Dallas TX.
